The not to be missed cuisine when you are in Nagoya. There is a saying that if you are in Aichi Prefecture, you should have at least one Unagi (Freshwater eel) meal and the best place to try would be in Nagoya city.
One of Nagoya’s famous dishes would be Hitsumabushi, and Atsuta Horaiken is the only restaurant that have their grilled unagi registered as “hitsumabushi”.
A half day visit to the Atsuta ward which is located at the southern part of the Nagoya City. We went to Japan’s second most respected Shinto shrine, Atsuta Jingu and the old vestige pier, Shichiri-no-Watashi which is now a park where the locals and tourists can have a short walk or rest. (more…)
When you are in Nagoya one of the must-try cuisines would be the TanTan/Dandan Men. My friend was saying I should try out the Tantanmen in Nagoya. To be honest, I am not sure why? But it was listed in my “to eat list”.
We were staying near the Nagoya Station and were pampered with lots of good and famous food nearby. The underground shopping street ESCA is the place for quick meal if you are stopping by at Nagoya station. I got to know this restaurant as it was ranked the top 7 restaurants for Tantanmen in Nagoya, you will see long queue during lunch and dinner time.
Decided to head out to the suburban area of Osaka as we are not staying in the city centre. We stayed near to this ward called Sakai. Not many people have heard of it, however, if you have been to Osaka a few times you might be interested to visit this place. It has always been on my go-to list because of the photos I have seen online. Recently, it has garnered some attention due to the advertising that is done for its annual new year event.
One of the reason to visit Sakai ward would be to ride on the Chin Chin Densha which would pass by the residential area and the older district of Osaka. In this post we will be looking at how to purchase the tram pass and some of the places to visit.
When visiting Osaka, I will always try to search for a good okonomiyaki restaurant. At first, I had a few restaurants in mind but in the end, this restaurant stands out and it was introduced by my Japanese friend. We gave it a go and even though that there is not much review anywhere even in Japan site. However, it was the up and coming “B class” gourmet which was listed in 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand.
A special treat for our family during Chinese New Year, we decided to stay at the Marriott Miyako Hotel for 2 nights. Have been hearing about since it was opened as it is located on the high floor of Abeno Harukas, Japan highest skyscraper. What to expect from this hotel would be its stunning view from your room, easy access to train station and more.
Have you heard about the city airport at midtown, where you can skip the queue at the airport and have your baggage check-in and departure immigration done?
I did not know about it until I was searching for the transportation to Gangnam, it was then I chanced upon this service that was shown at the official website. Having to know about this service make my return trip a swift and easy one, I was a little unsure and insecure because there is not much information about it.
Since i have the experience now, I hope to share this information here for more people to benefit from it. This post will be a step by step guide for travellers who wish to use the city airport terminal service at Samsung-dong City Airport Terminal (COEX).
A transportation guide which will focus on the bus service that is available from Incheon International Airport to your hotel. The reason for writing this post is for travellers who do not wish to carry their luggage climbing up the long and tiring stairs from the subway station and hoping to get right in front or close to their accommodation doorsteps with ease and comfort.
Our hotel is at Gangnam Ward, thus I will put down more detailed information on how to purchase the tickets, what bus to take and also, important points to note.
