Book A Session

A compilation of deals and coupons that can be used, when you are shopping in Japan for cosmetics, electronics and food, etc. The more you spend, the more you save and also earn some cashback or mileage using your credit card.

I have been using these coupons when I am shopping in Japan and thinks that this information will help friends or other travellers, who are in or planning to go to Japan soon.

At times, when you are in Japan shopping and get to the tax-free counter some of the friendly staff will ask you if you have any discount coupon, and if you do not have they will help you scan the pamphlet they have, however, this doesn’t happen all the time so you should know about this yourself.

Before using any discount coupon below, kindly take note on the terms and condition for each coupon.

Update: 2/10/2019

Not sure if you all have heard of the increase of consumption tax to 10% starting from the 1st October 2019. I will put down some of the important information that most of us tourist will be concern about.

The 10% consumption tax may be exempted.

  • Some of the certain items, for instance, the foods and beverages ( except for alcohol and the take-away services) and newspapers subscription that is published twice or more per week, will remain tax at 8%, which is now known as the “reduced tax rate”.

For a purchase of a total of 5,000 yen or more is qualify for the tax refund.

  • The terms and conditions of tax refunds depend on the type of product you purchase. Visit Tax freeshop, for more information.

To note: Some stores might not allow you to combine general and consumable items for a tax refund. Kindly check with the store first to see whether you can receive a refund for the combined purchase.

Will tourist like us be affected?

It will not affect the tourist much except for the increase in our food expenses during the trip.
