[Stay] New Zealand – Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square Hotel Review

After reviewing other travellers recommendation on where should to stay at Christchurch. We chose Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square Hotel over other recommendations because the price per night is mid-range.

We wanted to stay in a comfortable place after our long flight to Christchurch and this hotel is well located for some of the famous attractions that we planned to visit.

The Novotel Christchurch Cathedral Square which was re-opened in 2013, is a new and stylish 4.5-star hotel situated alongside the original Christchurch Cathedral.

The hotel has 154 spacious rooms and suites, from modern and contemporary to charming and cosy. All rooms are complemented with comfortable pillows, which you are able to choose from and not only that the amenities available in the rooms are suitable for all kinds of travellers.

Accor is an eco-friendly hotel, hence they only provided minimal amenities in the bathroom should you require more items, do contact the housekeeper to provide you with it.

Workout

The in-balance gym is located on the 3rd floor.  The booklet has made an error about the location of the yoga mat as it is not at the reception.

Overall:

We had a pleasant and comfortable stay at Christchurch with Novotel. Love the sweet gesture of giving more option to travellers for choosing what kind of pillow we are able to get for a comfortable sleep. Our hotel stay did not come with breakfast in our package, however, we grab some nice food around near the church.

A weekly Friday Street Food Market stalls available when we were there, there is quite a lot of international cuisine, for instance, Malaysia Cuisine, Burgers and pork ribs etc. There is a supermarket nearby about 5 mins walking distance, where you can grab some snacks or bread if you like. Other than the chargeable WIFI access we are happy with our 2 nights there.
