Sokcho is a small city with limited choice of hotels, especially around the coast. We decided to choose the Ramada hotel, which is located near the port and the price is reasonable.

Ramada Gangwon Sokcho Hotel is located next to Daepo Port, which is just 1km away from Oeongchi Beach.  It is well-known for its family-friendly environment and an excellent place for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The hotel has 556 guestrooms and suites. All rooms and suites come with a private balcony with mountain or ocean views.

Sunrise view

The second floor of the hotel is connected to the bridge facing the east sea. If your room is facing the lighthouse you will not have the full view of the sunrise, we woke up early that day hoping to see the sunrise. The lobby will put up the sunrise time.

We did not manage to catch the sunrise as the dark clouds are hovering in the sky.

Overall:

We were a little disappointed as we did not manage to catch the sunrise because of the bad weather. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel as it is clean and comfortable. The view is great, except at night there might be flying insects outside at the balcony when you switch on the lights, and mosquitoes during summer. That is why there is insect repellant provided.

One of our room cards cannot be used and we have to change it, the staff was nice but he thought that I need to change both cards, in the end, we got 2 new cards that work fine.

If you want to visit Seoraksan National Park, would recommend taking the direct bus which takes around 10-15 mins walk from the hotel. If you would like to take a cab from the hotel to Seoraksan, it will cost around 15,000~20,000won per trip.
