After visiting the NSeoul Tower, I meet my friends at Myeong Dong area for shopping. We did not have any plans for our dinner, hence as we walked along the street we saw this army stew (budae-jjigae) restaurant that caught our attention, since we were craving for some spicy food too. A must-have dish when you are in Korea, Korea samgyetang also known as Korean ginseng chicken soup, it is popular to be eaten on the hottest and most sultry summer days in Korea, the sambok (삼복) days, Chobok (초복), Jungbok (중복), and Malbok (말복) as a food that restore vitality.
The not to be missed cuisine when you are in Nagoya. There is a saying that if you are in Aichi Prefecture, you should have at least one Unagi (Freshwater eel) meal and the best place to try would be in Nagoya city.
One of Nagoya’s famous dishes would be Hitsumabushi, and Atsuta Horaiken is the only restaurant that have their grilled unagi registered as “hitsumabushi”.
When you are in Nagoya one of the must-try cuisines would be the TanTan/Dandan Men. My friend was saying I should try out the Tantanmen in Nagoya. To be honest, I am not sure why? But it was listed in my “to eat list”.
We were staying near the Nagoya Station and were pampered with lots of good and famous food nearby. The underground shopping street ESCA is the place for quick meal if you are stopping by at Nagoya station. I got to know this restaurant as it was ranked the top 7 restaurants for Tantanmen in Nagoya, you will see long queue during lunch and dinner time.
When visiting Osaka, I will always try to search for a good okonomiyaki restaurant. At first, I had a few restaurants in mind but in the end, this restaurant stands out and it was introduced by my Japanese friend. We gave it a go and even though that there is not much review anywhere even in Japan site. However, it was the up and coming “B class” gourmet which was listed in 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand.
