The not to be missed cuisine when you are in Nagoya. There is a saying that if you are in Aichi Prefecture, you should have at least one Unagi (Freshwater eel) meal and the best place to try would be in Nagoya city.

One of Nagoya’s famous dishes would be Hitsumabushi, and Atsuta Horaiken is the only restaurant that have their grilled unagi registered as “hitsumabushi”.

[Eat] Japan, Nagoya- Get a bowl of the spicy dandanmian at I Want to Eat TanTanMen Restaurant

When you are in Nagoya one of the must-try cuisines would be the TanTan/Dandan Men. My friend was saying I should try out the Tantanmen in Nagoya. To be honest, I am not sure why? But it was listed in my “to eat list”.

We were staying near the Nagoya Station and were pampered with lots of good and famous food nearby. The underground shopping street ESCA is the place for quick meal if you are stopping by at Nagoya station. I got to know this restaurant as it was ranked the top 7 restaurants for Tantanmen in Nagoya, you will see long queue during lunch and dinner time.

[Eat] Japan, Osaka- Bubu Tamatsukuri Okonomiyaki 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand

When visiting Osaka, I will always try to search for a good okonomiyaki restaurant. At first, I had a few restaurants in mind but in the end, this restaurant stands out and it was introduced by my Japanese friend. We gave it a go and even though that there is not much review anywhere even in Japan site. However, it was the up and coming “B class” gourmet which was listed in 2018 Michelin Bib Gourmand.

[Eat] Having high tea at Vivienne Westwood Café in Taipei

A day where we had plan to go to HsinChu city for a half day trip, however, due to bad weather we cancelled the trip and decided to stay in Taipei city.

Did a quick check on interesting cafe or places where we can spend our afternoon. We chanced upon Vivienne Westwood Cafe in Taipei, we thought that it is quite cool, hence we went over to have our afternoon tea there.

Always wanted to try and make my own Okonomiyaki in Japan. I got a chance to do so in one of my trip to where the origin of Okonomiyaki came from, Osaka. A restaurant that was introduced by my Japanese friend who got to know that I would like to visit a restaurant where I could make my own okonomiyaki.

[Eat] Spain, Barcelona – Hard Rock Cafe

After our walk at the Cathedral of Barcelona, we went to the busy shopping street near Hard Rock Cafe. There is one of their large departmental store, El Corte Inglés. You can have your last minute shopping here like we did before flying home. This day dinner we made our reservation at Hard Rock Cafe, despite having made reservations for our dinner we still have to wait for around 30 minutes before we were ushered in.
