[Trip] Japan, Osaka – Half a day to Sumiyoshi-Taisha and ride on “Chin Den”

Decided to head out to the suburban area of Osaka as we are not staying in the city centre. We stayed near to this ward called Sakai. Not many people have heard of it, however, if you have been to Osaka a few times you might be interested to visit this place. It has always been on my go-to list because of the photos I have seen online. Recently, it has garnered some attention due to the advertising that is done for its annual new year event.

One of the reason to visit Sakai ward would be to ride on the Chin Chin Densha which would pass by the residential area and the older district of Osaka. In this post we will be looking at how to purchase the tram pass and some of the places to visit.

When visiting Osaka, I will always try to search for a good okonomiyaki restaurant. At first, I had a few restaurants in mind but in the end, this restaurant stands out and it was introduced by my Japanese friend. [Trip] Japan, Gifu – A day at Shirakawago during Winter

A day visit to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Shirakawago, the famous traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses and some of which are more than 250 years old. The annual lightup event during winter was the reason we were there, we explored the little village after we got our tickets to the observatory deck.

However, if you are unable to get a ticket up to the observatory deck, you can still walk around the village and get up close to the light up gassho house at night.

I have listed down on some of the place of interest to visit, not to be missed photo-taking spot and where to have your meal when you are hungry and need to replenish energy.

[Stay] Japan, Kanazawa- AB HOTEL Kanazawa Review

Situated right at the back of the Kanazawa station west exit, at a convenient location where there is not only train service available but also a bus terminal which is able to bring us around Kanazawa. Initially, during the planning, this hotel is not on my list as I did not come across it during my search, hence I went and book another hotel next to it. However, when I made another search again for a better deal, it was then, this hotel appeared. For the same location and room size, this was cheaper than my previous booking, of course, this was my final decision and I am happy with it.

[Stay] Japan, Nagoya- Meitetsu Inn Nagoya Station Shinkansen-Guchi

The hotel we stayed is about 5 minutes walk from the JR station. The reason why we chose this hotel is not only because of its location but also it is the only hotel that provides 3-beds at a reasonable price. As we were travelling with our parents, comfort will be the utmost important thing for us and secondly, the price should be reasonable.  We found this hotel the most suitable for us to stay around the station.
