Getting between Taoyuan International Airport and Taipei Main Station has always been a long journey to us in the past but now with the opening of the Metro Line in February 2017 directly to the Airport, it has saved a lot of time for the travellers. Here are some of the transport methods to get between Taoyuan Airport and Taipei Main Station.

There are coin lockers available for you to store your luggage at the bus station if needed.
Suggestion
This would be the best way if your flight is in the morning and you have to reach the airport before 06:00 because it is operating 24 hours. Even though it might not be the most comfortable ride, but it is the best cost-saving transportation.

Method 2: Metro
From March 2017, Taoyuan Metro has officially opened the line for Airport T1 Station (Taoyuan Airport MRT Line A12 Station) and Airport T2 Station (Taoyuan Airport MRT Line A13 Station) for departure and arrival passengers.

Suggestion 2018:
I bought my round trip Taoyuan Airport MRT Ticket over the counter because I forgot to purchase online before my trip. The round ticket cost 290NTD payment via credit card, which is still cheaper than 160NTD (Per trip) considering the currency exchange and bank administration charge. It might be even cheaper if you purchase through Klook or KKDAY, which I would suggest doing so. The exchange counter is easy to spot, it is just right before you enter the station, now there is even free pineapple tart voucher given out for you to redeem at Ximending.

Where to board the train from Taoyuan Airport?
Terminal 1 to MRT station
When reached the arrival hall turn to your left walk straight to the end and you will see the sign below:
Take the elevator or travelator to B2 and once reached B2, you will the sign below just follow it and you will reach the train station.
From Terminal 2 to MRT, signboard can be easily noticed the train station is at B2.
How to use the token?
Tap your card or token to enter
When EXIT insert the token inside the slot.
Express Train
Only stops at a certain station, Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Station, New Taipei Industrial Park Station and Taipei main station.

Every 15 Mins
**Remember to check the train ride if it is express or commuter, when at the Airport Terminal platform.

Signboard at the station can be noticed easily and it is quite easy to locate the place. However, do take note of some of the terms and conditions that are implemented for this service. I didn’t use this service as I am not staying near Taipei Main station.

This is convenient transportation that makes it easy for the locals and even tourists who need to go to the town. Because of the hotel, I am staying, I have been commuting to town using the airport every day, got to experience both express and commuter train. For the cost wise, I think that it is a reasonable and comfortable journey.
